Are all pieces custom?

Every PORTMAN product is made by an individual artisan from start to finish. We oversee every stage and are always able to make modifications to any designs. If you have any specific questions reach out!

How long does a bag take?

By very nature of how we operate at PORTMAN, all leather goods are made and sewn by hand. This time intensive process requires highly skilled artisans, all the while taking care at each stage. On average a piece can take anywhere from 10-20 days from the start of production.

What is the production schedule?

After you have selected your leather good style, you will be asked for a deposit to confirm your place in our production schedule. After paying the deposit your space is reserved and you can expect your leather good to be made soon after with wood projects taking more time from the production date.

Where do you produce your goods?

Everything is made in our Toronto workshop located in the heart of the High Park area. We currently do not offer a retail location but you can pick up your finished product(s) and get a tour of the leather workshop when you visit!

What leathers do you use?

We pride ourselves in offering the ultimate selection of full grain vegetable, chrome and combination tanned leathers. We will always be fully transparent with the ethical sourcing of our leathers, promoting a positive change in our special industry.

Can I change the designs?

Our team will do our best to make your dreams come true. From changing details such as leathers and hardwares, up to more complex personalization, it is all possible under our one roof. We always encourage anyone to reach out with your ideas and we would be happy to help from there!

What is the price range?

Our prices are a reflection of the skilled artisans abilities, alongside the time consuming processes required for every piece. We will never overlook and detail too small, and will continue to strive to provide unparalleled quality in all workshops. This is a direct reflection of the work we do.

What are your sustainability practices?

At every stage we try our best to be as sustainable as possible. Using recycled materials in our packaging, reusable materials in our workshops, powered by solar panels, LED lighting and by very nature of being a bespoke company, have very little material wastage.
